Democracy Day: Nwali Calls for National Purpose, Lauds Ebonyi’s Growing Influence

Renowned Ebonyi-born industrialist and philanthropist, Christian Asaga Nwali (C-Sagas), has extended warm greetings to Nigerians, while offering a message filled with optimism, encouragement, and national purpose.
In a Democracy Day message shared early Thursday morning, Nwali praised the strides Nigeria has made in its democratic journey and spotlighted Ebonyi State as a beacon of progress and global promise.
“Happy Democracy Day, Nigeria; Ebonyi State shining bright on the global stage. May God guide Nigerians who know the way to their destinations and illuminate the path for those still finding their way,” he stated.
The message, though brief, shows Nwali’s long-standing commitment to visionary leadership and inclusive national development. Known for his significant contributions to industrial growth and youth empowerment in Ebonyi and beyond, C-Sagas used the occasion to call for unity, self-awareness, and collective progress.
His remarks come at a time when many Nigerians are reflecting on the state of the nation’s democracy—its achievements, shortcomings, and the road ahead. His reference to “those who know the way” and “those still finding their way” shows a deep concern for leadership, civic consciousness, and the need for solidarity in navigating national challenges.
Democracy Day, observed annually on June 12, honors the nation’s return to democratic rule and the enduring struggle for electoral justice and civic freedom. For voices like Christian Asaga Nwali, it is not just a day of celebration, but a reminder of the work still required to build a just, inclusive, and prosperous Nigeria.
