Foundation Extends Humanitarian Aid to Victims of Ikwo Attack

The C-SAGAS Charity Foundation has rendered humanitarian assistance to victims of a violent attack linked to the councillorship primary election in Agubata Amagu, Ikwo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The intervention took place on Friday, January 30, 2026, as part of the foundation’s commitment to peacebuilding, unity, and community development.
Led by the Ebonyi State Coordinator, Dr. Obisi Nweke, and the National Secretary, Engr. (Dr.) Uchechukwu Stanley Ogah, the delegation visited Agubata Amagu to commiserate with residents who were reportedly abducted, tortured, and injured by unknown assailants on the eve of the councillorship primary election.
The visit was carried out on behalf of the foundation’s founder, Chief Arc. Christian Asaga Nwali, PhD, Okpata Ozua Oha I.
Speaking during the visit, Dr. Nweke reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to promoting democratic values and protecting citizens’ rights to participate freely in the political process without intimidation, coercion, or violence.
He said the foundation strongly condemns all forms of political violence and remains dedicated to supporting communities affected by such incidents.
As part of the intervention, the foundation provided financial assistance to victims currently receiving treatment in hospitals, as well as those already discharged, to help offset medical expenses.
In his remarks, the National Secretary, Engr. Ogah, expressed appreciation to the founder for his prompt response and concern over the incident, describing the attack on Agubata Amagu in Ndufu Amagu Ward 1 as “unjust and deeply troubling.”
Several community leaders and government representatives present during the visit expressed gratitude to the foundation for its timely intervention. They included the Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Mobilisation, Hon. Geoffrey Agbe; the Village Chairman, Mr. John Nweke Alo; Queen Deborah Igwe; Mr. Chukwuma Oketa, a former village chairman; and other dignitaries.
They described the foundation’s support as a source of relief and encouragement for the affected families during a difficult period.
