Umahi, Nwali Celebrate Eid el-Kabir with Muslim Faithful in Ebonyi State

The Honourable Minister of Works, Distinguished Senator Engr. David Nweze Umahi had on sunday joined Muslim faithful in Ebonyi State to celebrate the Eid el-Kabir festivities.
The high-profile event held in Abakaliki drew political leaders, religious clerics, and members of the Muslim community in a spirit of brotherhood and shared celebration.
Among those who accompanied the Minister was the indefatigable humanitarian and staunch advocate of the People’s Charter of Needs, His Eminence High Chief Architect Christian Asaga Nwali, PhD.
Dr. Nwali, widely revered for his philanthropic endeavors and grassroots-oriented leadership, stood side by side with the Minister in a symbolic gesture of solidarity with the Muslim population in the state.
His presence at the celebration was seen by many as a reaffirmation of his deep respect for all faiths and his belief in an Ebonyi that works for everyone, regardless of creed or ethnicity.
Speaking during the gathering, Senator Umahi expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the support, prayers, and unwavering goodwill of the Muslim community in Ebonyi and beyond.
He described the occasion as “a privilege to host and fellowship with our Muslim brothers and sisters,” and lauded the values of sacrifice and devotion that define the Eid celebration.
“The event was filled with warmth and hospitality,” the Minister noted. “As we shared in the joy of our Muslim brethren, I was reminded of the importance of unity, peace, and national cohesion in our development journey.”
He further appealed for continued prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, praising the President’s commitment to delivering modern infrastructure across the country. “The President has given me all the support to carry out diligently his state-of-the-art infrastructural vision without being distracted by criticism,” Umahi affirmed. “It would be disheartening to disappoint such a man of noble intentions.”
Community leaders, including prominent Imams and other religious stakeholders, commended both the Minister and Dr. Nwali for honoring the Muslim faithful and called for sustained cooperation between government officials and religious institutions to foster peace and progress.
