Media personality Ubi Franklin has refuted rumours alleging he stole a wristwatch during Davido and Chioma’s wedding in Miami, calling the claims false and misleading.

In a statement on his X page, Franklin explained that jeweler Benny initially offered him a watch, which he declined after verifying its previous ownership. Later, during the wedding, Benny sent a different watch through his brother, which Franklin said he legally purchased and paid for in full.

“While airborne on my way back to Nigeria to finalize preparations for my sister’s funeral, Benny contacted me about the other wristwatch. I want to state clearly: I am not a thief. I have never stolen from anyone. I purchased a wristwatch and paid in full,” Franklin wrote.

He noted that Benny had already debunked the allegation, yet the story continued to spread. “This is my final word on this,” Franklin added, thanking supporters for their messages during what he described as a painful time for his family.
