Tinubu Arrives in Japan to Boost Bilateral Ties

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Tokyo, Japan, for an official visit aimed at strengthening relations and expanding economic collaboration between the two nations.

The President landed in the Japanese capital at 1:00 a.m. local time on Monday and was received by Ambassador Hideo Matsubara, Japan’s envoy for the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD).

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the visit will prioritise partnerships in trade, technology, infrastructure, renewable energy, and education.

Tinubu is scheduled to meet with senior Japanese government officials, top business leaders, and major technology firms to push for increased trade, technology transfer, and investment to drive Nigeria’s industrialisation agenda.

“This official visit underscores President Tinubu’s commitment to expanding Nigeria’s international partnerships and attracting foreign investment that will drive Nigeria’s economic transformation,” Onanuga said.
