Presidency Dismisses Rumour of Akume’s Replacement as SGF

The Presidency has refuted reports claiming that the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, has been removed from office.
In a statement issued Saturday night, Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, described the claim as false and the handiwork of mischief makers.
Onanuga clarified that President Bola Tinubu, who is currently in Saint Lucia, has not announced any new appointments or changes affecting Akume’s position.
He urged the public to disregard what he termed “fake news,” insisting there has been no alteration in Akume’s status as SGF.
