Peter Obi Passes Away in Lagos

Tragedy struck the Ikorodu community of Lagos State on Wednesday as news broke that Peter Obi, a well-known commercial motorcycle rider (popularly called okada man) in the area, has passed away.
According to residents, Obi, who was widely recognized in the community for his cheerful demeanor and dedication to his job, died in the early hours of the morning after a brief illness. He was reportedly rushed to a nearby clinic after complaining of severe chest pain but sadly did not survive.
Obi, aged 34, was described by his colleagues and passengers as “humble, hardworking, and always willing to help others.” For many in the busy Ikorodu axis, he was more than just a bike rider — he was a dependable figure known for his punctuality and safe riding.
“He wasn’t just a bike man; he was like family to many of us here,” said Mama Bisi, a food vendor near the garage. “He would always greet you with a smile and help people carry their load without asking for anything extra.”
The exact cause of his death is yet to be confirmed, though some of his close friends believe it may have been related to an underlying health condition.
Peter Obi is survived by his wife and two young children.
