PDP Urges Defectors to Stay or Leave in Peace

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on members who are considering joining other parties, including the African Democratic Congress (ADC), to either stay and build the party or leave in peace.
The PDP Governors’ Forum Chairman, Bala Mohammed, and other stakeholders made the appeal during a meeting of the party’s founding fathers led by Professor Jerry Gana in Abuja.
The meeting aimed to discuss issues within the party ahead of its National Executive Committee meeting scheduled for July 24, 2025.
The stakeholders emphasized that members of the party are united and promised to settle internal wranglings within the party.
They vowed to fight for the survival of the PDP and ensure the party takes back power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming elections.
The meeting was attended by prominent party members, including Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and former Niger State Governor Babagida Aliyu, among others.
The party leaders urged those who are leaving to do so peacefully, noting that they cannot be members of two parties simultaneously.
