PDP Inaugurates 44-Member Zoning Committee Ahead of November Convention

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has inaugurated a 44- Member National Convention Committee to oversee zoning of principal offices that will be contested in its upcoming National Elective Convention scheduled for 15th and 16th of November, 2025.
At the inauguration ceremony in Abuja on Thursday, Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, said the panel—chaired by Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri—would ensure fairness in allocating National Working Committee positions.
Speaking during the inauguration,Damagum says the decision of the zoning Committee will be pivotal to the PDP’s future.
He stressed that the committee’s recommendations would not only determine the distribution of party offices but could also indicate which geopolitical zone might get the PDP’s 2027 presidential ticket.
While he stressed that the next National Working Committee, NWC must not only be representative but be visionary, courageous and proactive, he taxed the inaugurated panel to take decisions that will shape the PDP’s ability to serve Nigerians, win Elections and defend the democratic values it represents.
Chairman of the PDP’s Governors’ forum and Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed says that the convention is the political foundation for the leadership of the Party and decisions must be platforms of victory for the Party in upcoming elections.
The zoning Committee chairman, Governor Douye Diri and other key players of the Party promised to effectively carry out their assignments for the good of the Party and Nigerians.
PDP Governors’ Forum Chairman and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, assured the committee of the governors’ full support, saying the PDP remained Nigeria’s best hope for credible governance.
