NYSC Orientation Exercise: What Prospective Corps Members Should Know

As the 2024 Batch C Stream 1 Orientation Exercise commences today nationwide, prospective corps members are eager to embark on their National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) journey.

Understanding the NYSC Orientation Exercise
The NYSC 21-days orientation exercise is a critical component of the national service programme. It is a three-week program designed to introduce prospective corps members to the objectives, objectives, and programmes of the NYSC.
The exercise also provides an opportunity for corps members to undergo military training, acquire new skills, and develop their leadership and teamwork abilities.
Pre-Orientation Preparations
Before reporting to the orientation camp, prospective corps members are advised to:
- Check their call-up letters: Verify the details on your call-up letter, including your name, state code, and orientation camp address.
- Gather required documents: Ensure you have all the necessary documents, including your statement of result, certificate of nationality, medical certificate, and identity card.
- Pack essential items: Bring necessary items to the camp, such as clothing, toiletries, and a mattress.
- Notify your family and friends: Inform your loved ones about your departure and the orientation camp address.
Orientation Camp Life
Upon arrival at the camp, prospective corps members will undergo registration, which includes:
