The Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, made a public appearance on Monday amid growing rumours that he had resigned from his position.

Ojulari participated virtually in an event organised by the Society of Petroleum Engineers Nigerian Council, as part of an official assignment.

His participation comes amidst widespread speculation about his possible resignation, though no formal announcement has been made either by the Presidency or the NNPCL.

Ojulari’s last known official engagement was a town hall meeting with staff at the NNPCL Towers in Abuja.

Notably, the NNPCL recently celebrated Ojulari’s first 100 days in office, highlighting major accomplishments under his leadership.

Ojulari was appointed as GCEO on April 2, 2025, by President Bola Tinubu, succeeding Mele Kyari in a major reshuffle of the company’s executive team and board.

In a performance update shared across the company’s official social media handles, NNPCL credited Ojulari’s tenure with significant strides in key areas including upstream operations, energy transition, corporate governance, and infrastructure.

The report praised the administration’s achievements in boosting profitability, advancing refinery rehabilitation, ensuring transparency, and improving staff welfare.
