Nigerian Artist Holiveah Completes 168-Hour Painting Marathon in Record-Breaking Feat

A young Nigerian artist, popularly known as Holiveah, has completed an extraordinary 168-hour painting marathon, marking the end of a week-long attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest painting session by an individual.
The non-stop effort, which began on July 21, ended at exactly 1:50 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025, capturing the attention of art lovers, cultural advocates, and supporters from within and outside Nigeria.
According to our correspondent, Holiveah—a visual artist from Bonny Island in Rivers State—was met with thunderous applause as she laid down her brush after seven intense days of continuous painting. The atmosphere was electric as friends, fans, and fellow creatives celebrated her grit and artistry.
The visual artist had initially set her sights on 150 hours, but in a stunning display of endurance, she pushed herself to 168 hours, surpassing her own expectations.
Speaking shortly after completing the feat, Holiveah said, “This wasn’t just about breaking a record. It was about proving that consistency, creativity, and courage can open doors globally—especially for African women.”
Throughout the paint-a-thon, Holiveah’s work explored bold and emotional themes—hope, resilience, African pride, and youth empowerment—bringing Nigeria’s rich cultural story to life through each brushstroke.
Beyond the canvas, her marathon became a rallying point for community spirit. The event boosted local tourism, spotlighted Bonny Island as a growing creative hub, and reignited discussions around investment in youth and the arts.
For many of her supporters, Holiveah’s marathon was more than a record bid.
“It’s a movement of hope, art, and African excellence,” said one attendee.
The attempt is now under review by Guinness World Records for official confirmation.
