Nigeria Police Force Appoints CSP Hundeyin as New Spokesperson

The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Benjamin Hundeyin as the new Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO). He takes over from Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Muyiwa Adejobi, who was recently promoted and redeployed to the Delta State Command.
CSP Hundeyin, who is the outgoing spokesman of the Lagos State Police Command, will assume duties at Force Headquarters in Abuja after the official handover ceremony in the coming days.
Police authorities described the development as “a routine administrative adjustment aimed at career progression and manpower optimization,” stressing that it is neither punitive nor controversial.
Hundeyin is widely regarded as a seasoned communicator with a strong academic and professional background. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language from Lagos State University and a Master’s degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.
He has also undergone specialized training in Civil-Military Coordination at the Nigerian Army’s leadership institute in Jaji. In addition, he is a member of several professional associations, including the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), the International Public Relations Association, and the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN).
His career includes international service with the United Nations–African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID), where he built expertise in peacekeeping and crisis communication.
With this appointment, CSP Hundeyin is expected to bring “a wealth of experience in security operations and strategic communication” to the role, according to senior police sources.
