Man Offers N1 Million Law Scholarship To Embattled Former Ebonyi PDP Spokesperson

A Social media Man, identified as Okoro Justice said he is willing to offer a Law Scholarship worth one million naira to embattled Former Ebonyi PDP Spokesperson, Nwoba Chika Nwoba who was arrested and remanded in Abakaliki Prison since February 2024 over allegation of embezzlement of hawkers empowerment fund hanging on the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in the state.
Mr. Justice Okoro revealed this on his social media handle earlier this week.
“The best I can do for my friend Nwoba Chika Nwoba, Former Ebonyi PDP Spokesperson is to take care of his education till graduation. I want Chika to study law, and I am to pay his tuition fee for 5 years. Two hundred thousand naira (N200,000) each year for 5yr duration in any federal university of his choice around Nigeria”.
He added that Mr. Nwoba shows flashes of brilliance, “though highly uneducated, he is also raw, he is crude and somewhat Homo Erectus other than normal Homo Sapiens to the point of being considered as an advanced human parasite by public servants”.
HOW AND WHY NWOBA CHIKA NWOBA WAS ARRESTED
On 11th Febuary 2024, Asiwaju Media reported that Nwoba Chika Nwoba, A member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, was arrested by the state police command for exposing the alleged embezzlement of N3 billion by the state’s Commerce and Industry Commissioner, Oguzo Offia Nwali.
Mr Nwoba had raised concerns about the misuse of funds designated for the empowerment of street vendors in the state.
The allegations of misuse of funds and diversion of resources were specific, and Mr Nwoba promised to involve the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) if the state government fails to act.
He was remanded in prison custody following his arrest on 11th February in Anambra State.
He was arraigned by the police on Tuesday 13th february on a three-count charge of defamation, following a petition by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Ebonyi State, Oguzor Offia-Nwali.
The charges read: “That you Nwoba Chika Nwoba ‘m’ and others now at large on the 6th day of February 2024 at Abakaliki within the Jurisdiction of this Honorable Court did conspire amongst yourselves to commit felony to wit: Threat to Life, Publishing False Information and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 516 A (a) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 33 Vol. 1 Laws of the Ebonyi State of Nigeria, 2009. “That you Nwoba Chika Nwoba ‘m’ and others now at large on the same date, place and in the aforementioned Magisterial District did threaten the life of Hon. Oguzorkanu Offia Nwali ‘m’ by the use of electronic gadgets and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 12(1) (b) of Ebonyi State Internal Security Enforcement and Related matters, Laws of Ebonyi State of Nigeria, 2009. “That you Nwoba Chika Nwoba ‘m’ and others now at large on the same date, place and in the aforementioned Magisterial District did publish false information on your Facebook page accusing Hon. Oguzorkanu Offia Nwali ‘m’ a serving Commissioner in Ebonyi State Executive Council of Funds Diversion, a publication you knew to be false and thereby committed an offence under section 14 of Ebonyi State Internal Security Enforcement and Related matters, Laws of Ebonyi State of Nigeria, 2009.” After the charges were read to him, Mr Nwoba’s Lawyer, C N Ufufu made an oral bail application for his client.
