Lagos Camp Abuzz as Batch ‘A’ Stream II Kicks Off Orientation

The 2024 Batch “A” Stream II Orientation Course has officially commenced in full swing as the first Morning Meditation of the Course began, ushering Prospective Corps Members into the full daily activities of camp at the NYSC Lagos Orientation Camp in Iyana-Ipaja.

The programme which was announced by the sounding of the bugle in the wee hours of today summoned all Prospective Corps Members to the parade ground, the venue of the programme.
As with any other regimental course, the programme began with the National anthem and the Pledge while the PCMs were exposed to, and taught the NYSC anthem, anchored by the Head of Publicity and Protocol Committee, Mrs Omolola Aladesoun, and the OBS crew.

Mrs Aladesoun while addressing the PCMs on the first motivational thought of the Course, said the significance of the meditation session titled “Clarion Call,” symbolizes the commitment to serve Nigeria. She encouraged the PCMs to show obedience and respect to Course officials and fellow Corps members.

Likewise, the Camp Director for the Course, Mrs. Itohan Ehimwenma, expressed pride in the PCMs’ conduct and encouraged them to sustain it, assuring them that they are expected to be the best the Camp has received.

She said “you are the transformational agents Nigeria requires, which means you are going to be responsive to the trainings that you will be given on camp.”
As part of the Morning Meditation programme, PCMs of different faiths were given the liberty to participate in separate prayer sessions, in accordance to the standards of practice of the NYSC.
Other activity that highlighted the Morning Meditation was the Physical Training, which was anchored by physical training instructors and the Man “O” War.
