Jim Iyke Clears The Air On Viral Birthday Message To Kate Henshaw

Nollywood star Jim Iyke has finally addressed the emotional birthday tribute he wrote for fellow actress Kate Henshaw earlier this year — a message that sparked widespread speculation and public reaction.
In a recent interview, the actor said he stood by every word in the post, clarifying that it wasn’t written to impress or stir controversy. According to him, the heartfelt message was a reflection of a deep and decades-long friendship with someone he holds dear.
“Kate is one of the few people in my life I can speak to without fear of judgment,” he said, describing her as “my boy” — a trusted confidante he can be completely honest with. He made it clear that there was no romantic or sexual implication behind his words.
“There’s nothing sexual about it,” Jim stated. “This is someone I can speak my truth to and get honest advice from. It’s just a genuine friendship.”
The actor also addressed the assumptions that followed the message, noting that many people read more into it than they should have.
“People catapulted it into realms that had nothing to do with it,” he said.
Jim Iyke concluded by saying he doesn’t owe the public an explanation and has no intention of living his life based on their interpretations.
“I spoke as only I can speak,” he said. “However you interpret it, it’s entirely your business.”
