January Transfer window update

The January transfer window has seen clubs across the five major leagues flex their financial muscle yet again.
Premier League:
Manchester City have bolstered their attacking options by signing Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt for £59 million, potentially rising to £63.2 million.
Marmoush had an impressive stint in the Bundesliga, netting 15 goals in 17 matches before making the switch.
Chelsea have recalled defenders Trevoh Chalobah and Aaron Anselmino to strengthen their backline amidst injury concerns.
Additionally, they’ve secured Strasbourg’s Mamadou Sarr for the upcoming summer, signaling long-term planning.
Similarly, West Ham United are set to sign Dutch striker Brian Brobbey on loan, aiming to enhance their attacking prowess for the remainder of the season.
La Liga: Tactical Acquisitions
Real Madrid are reportedly in the race to sign Bayern Munich’s versatile midfielder Joshua Kimmich, whose contract is set to expire in June. Manchester City is also a potential contender for his signature.
Madrid’s arch rivals, Barcelona have extended defender Ronald Araújo’s contract until 2031, securing their defensive mainstay for the foreseeable future.
Serie A: Strengthening the Ranks
Juventus: The Bianconeri have secured a loan deal for Chelsea’s versatile 21-year-old Renato Veiga for €5 million until the end of the season.
Veiga, who has expressed a preference for playing as a center-back, aims to gain more game time ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
AS Roma has officially signed Dutch defender Devyne Rensch from Ajax for a reported €5 million, with an additional €1 million in potential performance-related bonuses. Rensch is known for his versatility in defense and is expected to compete for the right-back position.
Bundesliga: Key Departures and Potential Arrivals
Following the departure of Omar Marmoush to Manchester City, Frankfurt will be looking to fill the void left by the prolific forward.
Ligue 1: Major Moves
PSG have made a significant acquisition by signing Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from Napoli for £59.1 million, bolstering their attacking options.
RC Lens has transferred defender Abdukodir Khusanov to an undisclosed Premier League club for £33.5 million, marking a significant move for the Uzbek international.
These strategic moves highlight the clubs’ ambitions to strengthen their squads as the season progresses.
