ICYMI: Delta Governor Oborevwori defects to APC

In a stunning political twist, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The high-stakes defection was confirmed following a closed-door meeting on Wednesday evening at the Government House in Asaba.
Sir Festus Ahon, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, affirmed the development, stating that the governor’s decision came after extensive consultations with key political stakeholders and was driven by what he described as “the best interest of Delta State’s future.”
Oborevwori, who clinched the governorship seat in 2023 under the PDP banner, was warmly received by top APC figures.
Political analysts say the move signals a significant realignment in Delta’s political landscape and could reshape the trajectory of the 2027 elections.
