FG declares April 18 and 21 public holidays for Easter celebration

The Federal Government has officially declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays in celebration of Good Friday and Easter Monday.
he announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, through a statement released by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, on Tuesday.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo called on Nigerians to use the Easter period to reflect on the values of sacrifice, love, and unity.
He urged citizens to pray for peace and stability in the country while extending goodwill to one another through acts of kindness.
He also reassured the public of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to drive national growth and development .
“Furthermore, he encouraged Nigerians to extend love and goodwill to their neighbours through acts of kindness and generosity.
“The minister wished all Christians a blissful Easter celebration and extended warm holiday greetings to all Nigerians,” the statement added.
