Eze Robinson Urges Governor Nwifuru to Act Swiftly on Appointment of Management Committee Members

A social commentator, Mr Eze Robinson has called on Ebonyi State Governor, Rt Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru to swiftly act over the non-appointment of Management Committee Members to make the Development Centres effective and fast-track development in the rural areas.
Mr. Eze expressed worries about why the Governor appointed and sworn in 64 Development Centre Coordinators across the State but has yet to call the list of Management Committee Members which according to him was ratified by the Stakeholders and submitted to him since January.
He disclosed that the appointment of Management Committee Members was contained in the 005 of Local Government Law of Ebonyi State which was amended under the Governor as then Speaker, Ebonyi State House of Assembly and highlighted their role in complementing the DC Coordinators and execution of government policies and programs.
According to him, those who made the list were people who worked tirelessly in their various Wards and Polling Units to ensure the victory of APC in the poll during the election and reminded the Governor of the need to approve the list as most of them are being lampooned by their friends and adversaries for being abandoned by the government.
While eulogizing the Governor for his efforts and leadership style thus far, advised him to seek advice on pertinent issues for effective delivery on the mandate given to him.
He however, lamented that, since the creation of Development Centres, this was the first time Coordinators were appointed without Management Committee Members and described it as not deserving considering their role and efforts people put in his election.
“I’m very worried. This is the first time we have Coordinators without Management Committee Members. Nwifuru should do the needful and let all hands be on deck to help him realize his People’s Charter of Needs mantra. DC Coordinators shouldn’t be operating with Management Committee Members. Those who made the list are already worried” Mr Eze said.
