Deji Adeyanju Urges Sowore to Join Coalition Against APC

Lawyer and activist Deji Adeyanju has appealed to Omoyele Sowore, former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), to join a political coalition aimed at dislodging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a post shared on his X handle, Adeyanju acknowledged Sowore’s integrity and distinction from typical Nigerian politicians but stressed the importance of unity to address the country’s pressing challenges.
“Dear Egbon @YeleSowore, I know you are different and unlike the thieving Nigerian politicians, but please consider joining the coalition sir,” Adeyanju wrote.
He urged Sowore to look beyond public opinion and ideological rigidity, stating, “Forget about what people will say about your long-standing principles and ideological values. Extraordinary circumstances call for extraordinary measures.”
Adeyanju described the move as a “painful sacrifice” and noted that politics is about numbers, not just ideals. “Even in churches, there are witches and wizards. Everyone already knows you’re uncompromising and different. You have nothing to prove to critics who won’t support you anyway,” he added.
He concluded his appeal on a respectful note: “Respect and love always—even if you don’t join.”
