Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has asserted that no other presidential aspirant in Nigeria shares his unique background.

Speaking during an interview with Arise Television on Monday, the former Anambra State governor emphasized his commitment to building a better Nigeria, stating that his experience in both business and governance sets him apart.

“Let me assure you, I’m committed to a better Nigeria, and I have what it takes. I have the experience of all those who want to be president today. Nobody has my background. I built a business in this country. I’ve operated in the corporate world, and I’ve been a governor… I transformed the smallest bank into a N25 billion bank,” Obi said.

He also highlighted his prudent financial management while in office, claiming to have saved significant funds for the Anambra State Government. He added that since leaving office, he has neither received pensions nor gratuity from the state.

“I was governor, and when I left, I wasn’t owing anyone. I believe I saved the most money as governor. Since I left office, no pension, no gratuity, not even a bottle of water has been given to me,” he stated.

To back his integrity claims, Obi challenged authorities to confiscate any piece of land allegedly allocated to him by the Anambra State Government.
