David Beckham Knighted by King Charles, Joins Roger Daltrey and Gary Oldman in Honours List

Former England football captain and global style icon David Beckham has officially been knighted for his contributions to sports and charity, joining a distinguished list of honourees that includes actor Gary Oldman and rock legend Roger Daltrey.
Beckham, who earned 115 caps for England and starred for elite clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid, will now carry the title Sir David Beckham. His wife, Victoria Beckham — former Spice Girl turned fashion mogul — will be known as Lady Beckham.
The 50-year-old had long been tipped for a knighthood, having previously been named an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in 2003. Victoria received her own OBE years later for her impact on the fashion world.

Reacting to the honour, Beckham said:
“Growing up in east London with parents and grandparents who were so patriotic and proud to be British, I never could have imagined I would receive such a truly humbling honour.
I’m so lucky to do the work that I do, and I’m grateful to be recognised for work that gives me so much fulfilment.”
Also knighted was 81-year-old Roger Daltrey, frontman of iconic British rock band The Who. Recognised for his services to music and charity, Daltrey has been a tireless supporter of the Teenage Cancer Trust since 2000, organising annual fundraising concerts at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
The honours were announced as part of King Charles III’s Birthday Honours List.
