Buhari’s Family Returns to Kaduna 12 Days After Former President Burial

Twelve days after the burial of former President Muhammadu Buhari, members of his family have returned to their Kaduna residence from Daura.

The late President’s wife, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, their son, Yusuf, and other relatives arrived at the Nigerian Air Force Base in Kaduna on Sunday, where they were warmly received by the Kaduna State Deputy Governor, Hadiza Balarabe.

“The Deputy Governor was accompanied by the Majority Leader of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Munira Tanimu, and other senior government officials,” a statement said.

The reception was marked by dignity and respect, reflecting Kaduna State’s continued recognition of the late President’s legacy and the family’s service to the nation.

Deputy Governor Balarabe later accompanied Mrs. Buhari and her entourage to their residence in Ungwan Rimi GRA, Kaduna.

President Muhammadu Buhari passed away on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the age of 82 while receiving treatment in a London hospital. He was buried in Daura, his hometown, on July 15, in accordance with Islamic rites.
