Bruno Fernandes Rejects £200M Saudi Offer, Commits Future to Manchester United With New Three-Year Deal

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has turned down a blockbuster offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal, choosing instead to extend his stay at Old Trafford with a new three-year contract.

Al Hilal reportedly tabled a £100 million bid to United and offered Fernandes a personal deal worth £200 million over three years — a sum that would have more than doubled his current £300,000-a-week wages. However, the 30-year-old midfielder declined the lucrative move after discussions with his family, reaffirming his commitment to continue competing at the highest level in European football.

Fernandes made it clear that he has no intention of leaving unless the club no longer wants him.

Since joining from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020, Fernandes has become one of United’s most influential players, tallying 98 goals and 86 assists in 290 appearances. He had two years remaining on his existing contract, with an option for an additional year, before agreeing to the new extension.

New manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly determined to keep Fernandes at the heart of his project, with United also making moves in the transfer market — including the recent £62.5 million signing of Matheus Cunha from Wolves.

Fernandes’ decision to reject the Saudi deal is being seen as a powerful show of loyalty and ambition as he continues to lead the Red Devils in pursuit of major trophies.
