Portugal Fight Back to Defeat Germany and Reach Nations League Final

Portugal staged a thrilling second-half comeback to beat Germany 2-1 in Munich and book their place in the UEFA Nations League final.
Germany took the lead shortly after the break when Florian Wirtz headed home a lofted pass from Joshua Kimmich, marking his 100th international appearance. The Bayer Leverkusen forward, who is reportedly close to a £109 million move to Liverpool, found space behind the defence and made no mistake.
Portugal were furious with the goal, believing debutant Nick Woltemade had obstructed Ruben Dias in the buildup. Despite a VAR review and a pitchside monitor check by referee Slavko Vincic, the goal was allowed to stand.
But Portugal responded with determination. Substitute Francisco Conceição made an immediate impact, curling in a superb equaliser in the 63rd minute after a dazzling solo run down the right.
Just five minutes later, Portugal turned the game around. Nuno Mendes surged forward and delivered a low cross that Cristiano Ronaldo tapped in from close range to make it 2-1.
Germany pushed for an equaliser in the final minutes and came agonisingly close when Karim Adeyemi struck the post, but Portugal held firm to secure the win.
The 2019 Nations League champions will now face either France or Spain in Sunday’s final in Munich.
