Body Found in Car at National Assembly, Police Launch Investigation

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has begun an investigation after a lifeless body was discovered inside a vehicle at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja.

According to a statement issued on Monday by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, the incident was reported on September 7, 2025, around 9:00 a.m., when a distress call was placed to the police.

Responding to the call, the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the National Assembly Division arrived at the scene and found the body of an unidentified male, suspected to be a labourer, inside a red Peugeot 406 with registration number BWR-577 BF.

The body was immediately evacuated to Asokoro General Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed that it was already in an advanced state of decomposition.

Adeh said the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, has ordered a discreet investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, with efforts underway to establish the identity of the deceased.

She added that further details would be provided as investigations progress.
