Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala has sealed a two-year move from National Women’s Soccer League side Bay FC to Saudi Women’s League giants Al Hilal.

The 30-year-old, who joined Bay FC in February 2024 after a highly successful spell with FC Barcelona Femeni, completed her medical on Monday night and is now set to begin a new chapter in her illustrious career.

Oshoala was absent from Bay FC’s 2-1 loss to Angel City on Monday, with The Athletic reporting that both clubs had agreed on an undisclosed transfer fee before she traveled to Saudi Arabia for her medical.

During her time in the United States, Oshoala made 25 league appearances last season — 23 of them starts — scoring seven goals and providing one assist. Overall, she featured in 38 matches and scored eight times. However, her involvement diminished in recent months, with Bay FC head coach Albertin Montoya pointing to her adaptation to the NWSL’s style and defensive demands as factors limiting her minutes.

Her move to Al Hilal offers the six-time Women’s Africa Player of the Year a chance to reignite her career. Oshoala has previously starred for top clubs across Europe, Asia, and the United States and was part of the Super Falcons squad that clinched a record-extending 10th WAFCON title in Morocco in July.
