Akpabio Sparks Buzz After Mistakenly Says Tinubu Was Buried Instead Of Buhari

Senate President Godswill Akpabio stirred reactions on social media after making a verbal blunder during a plenary at the National Assembly, where he mistakenly said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was buried, instead of referring to the late former President Muhammadu Buhari.
The gaffe was shared on X by AIT’s official handle, @AIT_Online. In the clip, Akpabio, while commending the conduct of the state burial, stated: “The whole country is very proud of what this administration has done, in the way and manner president Bola Ahmed Tinubu was honored and was buried.”
He had meant to speak about Buhari, who died on July 13, 2025, in a London hospital.
The mix-up quickly sparked reactions across social media, with many Nigerians commenting on the error and sharing varied takes on the moment.
