Air Peace Plane Overshoots Runway in Port Harcourt, no Injuries Reported

An Air Peace flight from Lagos to Port Harcourt veered off the runway upon landing at the Port Harcourt International Airport on Sunday, sparking concern but causing no injuries.
The incident involved Flight P47190. Air Peace spokesman Osifo-Whiskey Efe confirmed the runway excursion and reassured the public that all passengers were safe.
“Air Peace confirms that its Flight P47190, operating from Lagos to Port Harcourt this morning, had a runway excursion after landing safely at the Port Harcourt International Airport,” the statement read.
“The aircraft veered slightly off the runway without any damage. All passengers disembarked safely and calmly, and no injuries were reported.”
The airline emphasized its “unflinching commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety in all our operations.”
As of the time this report was filed, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) had not issued a statement regarding the incident.
Sunday’s event brings back memories of a similar occurrence at the same airport in 2019. In May this year, another Air Peace aircraft was grounded at the Asaba International Airport after colliding with an antelope while taxiing, disrupting flight operations.
