AE-FUNAI Reappoints Dr. Chukwu as Mass Comm. HOD

The Vice Chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike (AE-FUNAI), Prof. Sunday Oge Elom, has reappointed Dr. Joe Chukwu as Head of the Department of Mass Communication.

The announcement was made on Monday, September 1, 2025, marking the beginning of another tenure for Dr. Chukwu, who has led the department described as the flagship of the institution.

Similarly, the Association of Mass Communication Students conferred on him the “Head of Department of the Year Award”, citing his contributions to academic growth and student development.

Reacting to the twin honours, Dr. Chukwu expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor, management, faculty, and students for the confidence reposed in him.

He dedicated the recognition to God, while pledging to sustain the standards of Mass Communication, also known as Jackson’s House, in teaching, research, and innovation.

The Mass Communication department of AE-FUNAI has in recent years emerged as one of the most vibrant in the institution, attracting recognition for both staff and students.
