Actor Abayomi Alvin Opens Up About Facing Homosexual Proposals in Nollywood

Abayomi Alvin, a Nigerian actor, model, screenwriter, and entrepreneur known for his roles in Jenifa’s Diary and Isoken, recently shared his experiences with homosexuality proposals in the entertainment industry.
Speaking during an interview on Nollywood Radio, the Obafemi Awolowo University graduate revealed how he navigates such situations.
When asked if he had ever been propositioned, Abayomi admitted, “Yes, I have had such an encounter.” Reflecting on his first experience, he said, “I was shocked. I was like, ‘Oh, wow, people do this?’ But as I grew older in the industry, I learned how to handle it better.”
The actor explained that many of these encounters come from individuals who hold influence in the industry, such as those hiring actors and models for projects. “You need to handle these things diplomatically. You also don’t want to be in people’s bad books. I just make my point clear: I am straight. My ways are not curved,” Alvin stated.
On dealing with his female fans, Alvin emphasized the importance of setting boundaries. “As an entertainer, you come to terms with the fact that you can’t sleep with everyone. It doesn’t make sense. These things have spiritual effects,” he explained. He urged entertainers to respect their fans and avoid taking advantage of them.
