Zainab Galadima Predicts Tough 2027 Battle for Tinubu, Says Northern Support May Drop to 30%

Zainab Galadima, daughter of NNPP chieftain Buba Galadima, has cast doubt on President Bola Tinubu’s chances in the 2027 presidential election, warning that his support in the northern region could fall as low as 30 percent.
Speaking on the Mic On podcast hosted by Channels TV’s Seun Okinbaloye, Zainab described the upcoming election as potentially Tinubu’s most difficult political test yet.
“Honestly, I don’t have good reviews from northerners about Tinubu. It’s really bad. Tinubu may get, maybe, 30 percent or less,” she said.
“It’s going to be worse than the 2023 elections. The chances of Tinubu winning in 2027 will be the toughest battle he will ever face.”
She also noted that the emergence of a new opposition coalition, though still evolving, is already causing concern in the ruling camp.
“This coalition—though I don’t fully understand what they’re doing—makes it clear that we all need to sit up,” she added.
Zainab previously served as a technical assistant on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the office of the vice-president during President Muhammadu Buhari’s first term.
Her father, Buba Galadima, also weighed in on the rising coalition, calling it a promising development for Nigeria’s democracy. He urged Nigerians to support the alliance as a credible alternative to the current administration.
The coalition, which recently adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as its official platform, includes major political figures such as former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi, and ex-Kaduna State governor Nasir el-Rufai.
With the political landscape shifting ahead of 2027, opposition forces appear poised to mount a serious challenge to Tinubu’s re-election bid.
