“You Peddle Gossips and Then Start Looking for Who to Kill It” — Asaga Nwali Slams Godfrey

Ebonyi-born businessman and philanthropist, Arch. Christian Asaga Nwali, has issued a blunt response to Odo Godfrey Chikwere, General Manager of Legacy FM Abakaliki, following remarks urging him to beware of sycophants and gossip.
In a Facebook post on friday, Chikwere described Nwali as “a single man with candle light at the center of darkness” and prayed for him to develop the wisdom to distinguish genuine supporters from sycophants and gossip peddlers.

He urged the chief Asaga to “gather effective information through effective interaction and not through WhatsApp groups where poison is mistaken for ice cream.”
Responding, Nwali dismissed any concerns about managing gossip or filtering those around him. In his words:
“You peddle gossips and then start looking for who to kill it, that’s not part of my job please.”
He emphasized that he remains focused on his personal principles and mission:
“I run my own race, not someone else’s. For me, what we do for ourselves dies with us; what we do for others remains and is immortal. All roads don’t lead to my destination; such separation you are talking about is not my business and I am not a coward either.”
Nwali also noted that his goals and responsibilities are strictly between himself and God, adding:
“If you aren’t targeting my pocket, understand that my target is between my God and I.”
