Yahaya Bello pleads not guilty to ‘N110bn fraud’ charges

Yahaya Bello, former governor of Kogi, has pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Bello was arraigned on Wednesday at the federal capital territory (FCT) high court on a 19-count charge bordering on alleged money laundering to the tune of N110 billion.
His appearance followed an invitation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday.
Bello, accompanied by EFCC officials, is set to appear before Justice Maryanne Anenih.
Along with Bello, two others—Umar Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu—are facing prosecution as the 1st to 3rd defendants in a 16-count charge related to the alleged N110 billion fraud.
While Oricha and Hudu have been granted administrative bail by the EFCC, the case continues to unfold in court.
