An Ohio woman, identified as Jane Doe, has filed a lawsuit against rapper Cardi B over a 2023 incident in which she was allegedly struck by a microphone during a performance at Drai’s Beachclub on the Las Vegas Strip.

The woman claims she suffered physical injuries, emotional distress, reputational damage, and financial loss after Cardi B allegedly threw the microphone at her. The incident reportedly occurred after someone in the crowd splashed water on the rapper, prompting her to retaliate by hurling the microphone.

According to the lawsuit, Cardi B had earlier invited fans to throw water on her during the show, leading Jane Doe to believe it was acceptable. She alleges that other fans did the same without incident, but when she followed suit, Cardi responded by throwing the microphone, which allegedly hit her shoulder.

The same microphone was later auctioned for nearly $99,000—something the plaintiff says added to her emotional distress.

Jane Doe is seeking at least $15,000 in general damages, along with special and punitive compensation.

Las Vegas police previously investigated the incident, but no charges were filed due to a lack of sufficient evidence.
