Wike’s Strategic Inspection Tour Fosters Hope for Timely Completion of Crucial FCT Projects

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, embarked on an exhaustive inspection of pivotal ongoing projects across the nation’s capital, signifying a concerted effort towards the capital city’s progress and development.
Mr Wike’s comprehensive tour encompassed significant initiatives, including the expansive Outer Northern Expressway, overseen by C.G.C Nig. Ltd, the holistic development of Arterial Road N20 managed by Gilmor, and the ongoing construction of the Vice President’s official residence facilitated by Julius Berger (Nig. PLC).
In a statement by the Director of Press for the minister on Thursday, Anthony Ogunleye, Mr Wike underscored its resonance with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive for enhanced accountability through monthly reports from Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs). This highlighted the projects’ profound impact on residents’ lives and the overarching developmental strides in the FCT.
“The holidays are behind us, and the President’s endorsement of the 2024 budget mandates comprehensive accountability from all MDAs. My inspection of these projects mirrors the dedication of fellow Ministers in fulfilling their obligations across various sectors,” he said.
The minister expressed his profound appreciation for the contractors’ unwavering dedication towards the imminent completion of the projects.
“With the exceptional commitment and detailed planning showcased by our contractors, these transformative endeavors are well on course for inauguration within the President’s inaugural term,” he said.

He further reiterated his commitment to honor every pledge made toward the FCT’s advancement.
He explained the reception of 50 percent of the FCT’s N100 billion 2023 supplementary budget, aligning seamlessly with the President’s instructions to the Finance Minister.
“This financial provision instills unwavering confidence in the prompt remuneration of contractors, ensuring zero delays in project completion within the FCT.”
“The disbursement of 50 percent of the National Supplementary Budget by the Finance Minister, coupled with the Presidential endorsement of the statutory supplementary budget, serves as a resounding testament to our steadfast commitment to project fulfillment,” he added.
