Wike Vows To Back Tinubu Loyalists, Issues Bold Political Pledge

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has reaffirmed his support for President Bola Tinubu while urging residents of Abuja to rally behind the administration.
Speaking at the flag-off of Lot 2 of the Water Supply Project in Karu on Thursday, Wike praised former FCT Senator Philip Aduda and Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) Chairman Christopher Maikalangu for their developmental strides. He announced the immediate approval of a 2km road in Karu at Aduda’s request and pledged to back any leader who aligns with Tinubu’s vision.
“There is a road you mentioned, about 2km. Consider it done. Government listens to those who deliver for their people,” Wike said, noting Aduda’s influence and Maikalangu’s track record in attracting key projects such as the Saburi, Kabusa-Takushere, and Deidei roads.
Wike described Maikalangu as “very good and hardworking,” promising to meet his requests if he wins re-election as AMAC chairman, regardless of party affiliation. “Anybody who supports Tinubu, I will support him,” Wike added.
The minister also highlighted that past administrations neglected Karu’s water needs, contrasting them with Tinubu’s government, which has now provided potable water to the community. “Agreement is agreement. You will remember the government that remembers you,” he said.
Philip Aduda, who served three terms as FCT senator under the PDP before losing in 2023, was commended for his contributions. Maikalangu, now in the APC after defecting from the PDP in 2024, is seeking re-election as AMAC chairman in February 2026.
