Wike Unveils Ambitious 2024 Agenda for FCT’s Transformation

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has revealed an expansive blueprint poised to transform the FCT throughout 2024.
He said his strategic plan spans across crucial sectors, signalling a dedicated effort to propel the capital territory towards unprecedented growth and development.
“Our commitment is to elevate the FCT to a model of excellence across all developmental spheres,” emphasized Minister Wike, underlining the administration’s resolute mission to set a new benchmark for progress within the city.
The Minister’s agenda for the year encapsulated a focused approach encompassing infrastructure, economic empowerment, social welfare, security, and sustainable development. This comprehensive strategy aims to address existing challenges while leveraging opportunities for growth within the capital territory.
“In 2024, our primary focus will be on accelerating infrastructural development,” stated Minister Wike, outlining plans for rapid road construction, revitalization of the Abuja Metro System, and the expansion of critical amenities such as water supply and electricity. These initiatives are tailored to meet the burgeoning demands of the FCT’s growing population.
Moreover, Mr Wike highlighted his commitment to fostering economic growth by nurturing a conducive environment for business operations.
“Our emphasis will be on promoting entrepreneurship and unlocking the untapped potential of the tourism sector,” pledged Minister Wike, demonstrating a strategic vision to bolster the FCT’s revenue streams.
