Crisis: PDP won’t die – Wike

The Conference of Professionals in the Peoples Democratic Party (CP-PDP) has declared that Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, is no longer recognised as a member of the PDP, citing his open allegiance to the ruling All Progressives Congress and President Bola Tinubu.

In a statement signed by the group’s chairman, Obinna Nwachukeu, the PDP professionals said Wike must be “put in his rightful place” and urged Nigerians to ignore his repeated public outbursts, including his latest media chat on Monday where he attempted to dictate the internal affairs of the opposition party.

The group argued that Wike’s consistent support for the Tinubu-led administration disqualifies him from identifying with the PDP. They described him as merely “an appointee and apologist of the failed Tinubu administration” who no longer holds any moral or political authority within the party.

“The FCT Minister must realise that the PDP as a party has gone beyond being controlled, influenced, or bullied by diatribes,” the statement read.

CP-PDP also dismissed Wike’s comments about internal court rulings and party leadership in the South South and South East regions, stating that the party had long settled its leadership structure in both zones.

“The two chapters have been functioning effectively. Wike’s reference to court orders regarding leadership in the regions is therefore of no moment and should be disregarded,” the statement added.
