Welfare And Health Packages Unveiled by NYSC Lagos

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Lagos State held a sensitization lecture on statutory welfare packages for the 2024 Batch B stream II corps members undergoing orientation course at Iyana Ipaja camp.
The lecture was delivered by the Assistant Director,Corps Welfare and Health Services Mrs. Fayinto Beatrice who gave a detailed overview on leave entitlements and other welfare packages during their service year.
Highlighting the welfare packages she said all services for Corps members in camp are free which include feeding, accommodation, allowances and access to health care services.
She emphasized on the need to disclose any health challenge they may be facing because according to her serious ailments cannot be treated in the camp clinic.
She listed the types of leave to include maternity, medical, convocation, wedding, Hajj, and terminal leave.She however warned that an approval must be received before a Corps member can proceed on any leave after going through the laid down process.
Mrs.Fayinto also briefed corps members on the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) registration process, directing them to access the NYSC portal for initial steps.She explained to them that they were entitled to free health care services under the health insurance scheme right from the time they received their call up letter till the end of their service year.
In addressing sensitive matters, she explained the procedure for reporting a corps member’s death and the subsequent benefits provided to the next of kin.
