WASSCE Candidates Escape Death As Examination Hall Collapses In Taraba

Dozens of students writing the ongoing West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) at Government Secondary School, Namnai, in Gassol Local Government Area of Taraba State, narrowly escaped death on Wednesday evening after their classrooms collapsed during a heavy downpour accompanied by a windstorm.
The incident left several students, teachers, corps members, and external supervisors trapped beneath the debris. They were eventually rescued by local residents who rushed to the scene in response to the emergency.
According to eyewitnesses, several students, both male and female, sustained various degrees of injuries, with some reportedly suffering broken limbs.
All the injured victims are currently receiving treatment at a nearby Primary Healthcare Centre in the town.
