Wanted Singer, Portable turns self in

Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has surrendered to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Yaba.
This is coming after the Ogun State Police Command had declared him wanted over allegations of assaulting government officials.
The incident in question occurred on February 5, when officials from the Ogun State Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development were reportedly attacked during an enforcement exercise in Ota. Portable and his associates had allegedly assaulted the officials, leading to multiple injuries.
While nine of his associates were arrested, Portable reportedly evaded capture, prompting the police to declare him wanted.
In a recent video, Portable, attempting to explain his absence, claimed he was undergoing psychiatric treatment at the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Abeokuta. However, the Ogun State Police Command dismissed the claims, insisting that he remained wanted for the alleged assault.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, who confirmed the singer’s surrender, said: “Portable just turned himself in at the SCID Yaba. We have contacted Ogun State Police Command to come pick him up.
“As the investigation progresses, the public is urged to provide any information that could assist law-enforcement agencies in addressing the matter.”
