Victor Osimhen Recalls Cleaning Gutters For N30 During Childhood Struggles

Victor Osimhen has shared a glimpse into his difficult childhood, revealing that he once earned just N30 for cleaning filthy gutters in his neighborhood.
Speaking during an interview with Daddy Freeze, the Nigerian football star opened up about the odd jobs he did to survive before his rise to fame.
According to Osimhen, as a young boy growing up in a tough environment, he would fetch water for residents of a nearby “face-me-I-face-you” apartment block for N80. He also recalled scrubbing gutters filled with slimy green algae for just N30.
“There was this building opposite our house, a typical face-me-I-face-you,” he said. “I used to fetch water for the people living upstairs for N80. And most times, I washed the gutters when those green things started growing inside—for N30.”
Osimhen’s story reflects his journey from poverty and hard labor to becoming one of the most celebrated footballers in Africa.
