Victor Boniface Addresses Failed AC Milan Move, Dismisses Media Claims

Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface has responded publicly after his proposed transfer to AC Milan collapsed, addressing speculation about his professionalism and online presence.
In a post shared on Instagram, Boniface wrote in Pidgin English:
“Boniface no serious he dey everywhere
I dey club like Leverkusen and club like Milan want me and I no serious
So if I serious na club for Jupiter I go dey play
Clowns everywhere
If I no serious and I dey this level make I remain like that”
The post comes amid criticism from sections of the Nigerian media accusing the forward of being “too chronically online” and lacking professionalism.
Boniface has firmly rejected claims that media perception derailed his transfer. He reportedly asked football journalist Fabrizio Romano to remove a post linking Nigerian media criticism to the collapsed move, insisting that medical concerns—not off-field behavior—were the reason AC Milan pulled out.
Multiple reports indicate that Milan withdrew from the deal after the 23-year-old failed to pass his medical, with concerns over previous knee injuries and recurring muscle issues.
Boniface’s response, laced with sarcasm, suggests he remains unfazed by the controversy as he continues to shine at Bayer Leverkusen despite the disappointment.
