Controversial social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has staged a dramatic protest at the gate of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister’s office in Abuja, highlighting the plight of primary school pupils affected by an ongoing teachers’ strike.

According to PUNCH Online, primary school teachers in the FCT have been on strike since March 24, 2025 — over 90 days — due to the Area Council Chairmen’s failure to implement the new N70,000 national minimum wage.

On Monday, VDM arrived at the protest site dressed in school uniform, accompanied by children also in uniform. He organized an open-air classroom right in front of the Minister’s gate, teaching the pupils the alphabet in his signature satirical style.

“S for Suegbe, T for Tinubu, W for Wike,” VDM called out, with the children repeating after him.

When approached by a reporter, VDM declined to speak, insisting instead that the entrance of the Minister’s office would now serve as the children’s new classroom.

The unusual protest gained attention for its symbolic messaging. At the time of filing this report, the children were on break, enjoying plates of rice and chicken provided by VDM and his supporters.

The protest underscores the deep frustration with the prolonged strike, which has left many FCT schoolchildren out of classrooms for months.
