VeryDarkMan Breaks Down in Tears as He Announces Death of Popular Fish Seller

Nigerian activist and social media personality VeryDarkMan was left heartbroken as he tearfully announced the death of a fish seller known as “Fish Magnet,” who had recently tried to gift him some fish as a gesture of appreciation.
In a lengthy video shared on Instagram, VeryDarkMan explained that the young entrepreneur was kidnapped and killed in Anambra State shortly after reaching out to him.
The clip began with an old video of Fish Magnet speaking passionately:
“It will give me more joy to give these fish to VeryDarkMan than to sell them. Just as a way of appreciating him for all the good he has been doing in Nigeria, and for him coming to Onitsha, Anambra State, my state, to help traders, to speak out for us. It’s not easy. So I want to send these fish to him, only if I can reach him. Please, help me tag VeryDarkMan so that I can get these fish across to him.”
With a shaky voice and tears in his eyes, VeryDarkMan responded in the video:
“Unfortunately, he will not be able to give me that fish because he has been kidnapped and he has been killed. What is the offence of this guy? If you go to his page, all he does is promote his business.”
He shared the last messages the late seller sent him on June 23 and June 26, showing his eagerness to send the fish. One of them read, “Big brother, please, it will be an honor to get this fish across to you. It’s already in the oven.”
VeryDarkMan used the moment to call out the government over the worsening insecurity in the Southeast and Nigeria as a whole. He also addressed Anambra State Governor Charles Soludo, saying:
“Your children are abroad. If you don’t like that country, you won’t send your kids there. If security no dey this country, you won’t send your kids here. What’s the hope of entrepreneurs? What’s the hope of people trying to start businesses in Nigeria?”
He announced plans to hold a candlelight walk in honor of Fish Magnet during his visit to Anambra on August 4, while raising awareness about the disturbing rise in kidnappings and killings.
“This is becoming too normal. Every day, people are killed—farmers in Benue, people in Jos. We can’t keep quiet anymore. The most painful part is that Nigerian youths pay little or no attention to insecurity. They’d rather chase trends than speak up.”
He ended the emotional video with a final call for unity and urgency in tackling insecurity across the nation.
