VDM Accused of Exploiting Mohbad Case for Content Creation

Prominent social commentator and media aide, Ossai Ovie Success, has criticized social media influencer VeryDarkMan for allegedly using the tragic case of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, for content creation.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Ossai expressed deep disappointment over what he described as a sensational and potentially harmful approach taken by the influencer. He specifically condemned Very Dark Man’s decision to interview individuals believed to be suspects or witnesses in the ongoing investigation surrounding Mohbad’s death.
According to Ossai, airing such interviews not only puts the individuals at risk but could also compromise the integrity of the ongoing case. “Interviewing witnesses in an ongoing trial and sharing their testimonies publicly may be considered a crime,” he warned. “Those interviewed could potentially sue Very Dark Man for putting their safety and protection at risk.”
He further noted that in cases involving sensitive investigations, the standard practice is to protect witnesses from public exposure to preserve both their safety and the validity of their testimonies. “Very Dark Man’s approach is more like sensationalism than responsible journalism,” he added.
Calling for a more cautious and respectful approach, Ossai urged content creators to prioritize ethics and empathy, especially in cases involving the deceased and ongoing legal proceedings. “It’s disappointing to see Very Dark Man handling the Mohbad case in this manner. I am disappointed,” Ossai concluded.
