Tyla Wins Favourite Afrobeats Artist At 2025 American Music Awards

South African sensation Tyla emerged victorious as the Favourite Afrobeats Artist at the 2025 American Music Awards, cementing her rising global status.

The star-studded ceremony took place on Monday night at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas, where Tyla triumphed over Nigerian heavyweights Wizkid, Rema, Tems, and Asake for the honor.

Wizkid had previously taken home the inaugural award in this category back in 2022, following the global success of his smash hit Essence.

Billie Eilish dominated this year’s event, sweeping all seven categories in which she was nominated, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year.

In contrast, Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande walked away empty-handed despite multiple nominations.

In a surprise comeback, Eminem clinched his first AMA wins in 15 years, securing Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Hip-Hop Album for The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce).
