Two Pakistanis Arrested for Kidnapping in Lagos

Two Pakistani nationals, 19-year old Roman Gull, and 28-year old Aftab Ahmad, have been arrested by the Lagos state police for a kidnap operation involving another 48-year old Pakistani(victim).
According to the report, the victim was lured all the way from Kano state down to Lagos over a fake chef job offer where the two suspects alongside 5 accomplices had to pay his flight over.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, who disclosed the incident on Thursday, said;
“A distress call was received at the Ikeja Division of the Lagos State Police Command on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, about the kidnap of a 48-year-old Pakistani within Ikeja.
“Anti-crime patrol teams were swiftly deployed, leading to the rescue of the victim and the arrest of two of his captors, Roman Gull and Aftab Ahmad, both Pakistani nationals, while five others escaped.”
Apparently, the suspects had lured the victim, booked his flight and hosted him in a Lagos hotel on 28th February, 2025.
However, they tied him up the next day before contacting his employer and demanding 50 million naira ransom which the employer paid N1m at first before alerting the police.
According to the police, while the rescued victim is in good condition and the police has reached out to his family, the suspects who fled when the police arrived are being tracked.
